T.I. Capital typically organizes its ventures in four stages. First, we review written materials, which typically include:

An executive summary and/or business plan that clearly communicates the concept, the audience and the path to the market,

Detailed resumes and/or historical bios on each member of the management team so we can better assess their overall skills and establish what’s needed to round out the team, and

Financials that clearly outline the assumptions, project business growth and describe the proposed use of proceeds for the next two years.

Next, we schedule an initial presentation where the company’s management can make their presentation and tell their story. We go beyond the business plan to learn more about the people involved in the project. We listen to the founders to better understand their vision for the company. We build a sound understanding of their marketplace and their key competitors. We evaluate management’s ability to communicate their vision with clarity and passion.

Then, we drill down further in a second meeting. The team is invited back to work with us to:

Examine the plan’s feasibility by closely reviewing the distribution strategy and the path to the customer.

Identify possible obstacles and hazards that may have been overlooked during the plan’s development.

Evaluate short and long-term projections.

Assess economic forecasts, indicators and research.

Leverage our network of academics, market experts, opinion-makers and industry visionaries to bring fresh, non-biased perspective to the project.

Finally, taking into consideration our needs and those of the entrepreneur we develop a term sheet which outlines the details of our arrangement and roles of both sides moving forward. This entire investment process typically takes only 30 days.
